Hello to all

Hi folks,

Registered a week or two ago, and reckon it's time to say 'hello'.

I don't own any R/C at present, but have been toying with the idea of getting hold of either a Heng Long King Tiger or a Taigen (late) Tiger I at some point. Funnily enough, I still can't picture the true size of a 1/16th tank... I'm aware of the size dimension etc, but I'm sure 1/16th will be a shocking size.

The other notion is to go for 1/35 Tamiya R/C... that's a scale I'm familiar with, it seems a more 'sensible' size if you know what I mean! I'll be asking a couple of questions about this range in the appropriate forum area.

I'm a keen modeller, so the whole painting/weathering process appeals greatly. There's some excellent work on this forum to give plenty of inspiration.

Anyhows, hope to get some of my work on here at some point in the future.

Best,
Andy, UK

Hi Andy,
Welcome to the forum
Most of us here are using 1/16 or larger, but all scales are welcome
Ask away with any questions.

Hi Andy,
Welcome to the Forum
I would say that if you are not yet decided about the Scale, then definitely go 1/16th..... !!! ..The scale has a very large number of Tanks to choose from and a simply Vast array of options and upgrade parts...You will not regret it, I can assure you of that. The 1/16th means that you can actually add extra parts to the workings of the tank with relative ease because there is spare 'Space' left over after the R/C gear etc is added. The 1/35th I would expect to be more limited both in internal space and also in how much it can be used 'outside'...the world of the 'garden' is a much larger and more hazardous area is 1/35th scale than it is in 1/16th. The tanks are also available to a wide variety of budgets........ranging from the base Heng Long all the way up to the 'Full Option' Tamiya....
Feel free to post any questions that you have and just in case it helps there is a search box located in the top right hand corner of the main Forum banner which is pretty useful !
.
Can I guess that your 'name' on here is ' Occupation' based ??..... :D

Thanks for the welcomes... seems a friendly forum! I'm from Northern Ireland and, weirdly enough, have never actually fitted a fitted kitchen.
