HL King Tiger and Torro/Matorro King Tiger

Hi,
I know, I'm still working on a Tiger I HL but I decided to buy a King tiger too.
I just, surfing on the web, saw that exist many version of it.
I would like to buy the HL version with Porche turret.
I'm just wondering about the upgrade parts. I saw in the different web sites that there are differences from the HL version and the Torro/Matorro ones, even if from pictures are similar (nearly the same...).
If I buy the HL version, may I use tracks, metal wheels, and other upgrade items that are normally indicate for the Torro version in the HL one??
Thanks a lot for your precious replies!!
Cheers,
Gianfranco.

Wilhob,
A quick heads up. If you plan to use the Mato Upgrades _on_ the HL lower hull, prepare to do a little fiddling for fit. I've got one of the HL King Tigers with Porsche turret and just went through all of this buying upgrades that said "will fit the new Heng Long King Tiger" and they were for the Mato King Tiger and were not a direct swap across (suspension arms too long, wheels needing sleeving, etc.) If you plan on having a Mato lower hull with a HL upper and are adding a bunch of Mato metal upgrades to the lower hull, you're good to go.

) Have fun whichever route you go.

Painless

Thanks Painless,
that was at least my question. I saw that most of the upgrade parts are for the Torro tank.
And I thought I need to modify them if I use a HL lower hull.
I donìt know if is not the case to buy directly the KT, the really expensive one, Torro, with most of the upgrade already in the package.
What do you think??

You are right.
Mai original idea was to buy a HL Porche turret KT, the base model and to work on it but, I'm now doing the same on a Tiger I HL and it is from 10 months now.
I need to use a lot of putty and other modifications that took long.
When you say suspension arms too long, did you cut them or what?
A solution could be leaving the wheels in plastic and change only the sprockets and idler in metal, with metal tracks too.
As will as concerne the upper hull no issue than...
Gianfranco.

Good Morning.
The metal suspension arms that I used for my build are 3mms too long (Made for the Mato King Tiger) and will bind up the Drive Sprocket on the driver's side. The best fix is to move the gearbox up and forward a bit so that the Sprocket clears that roadwheel when it is swinging up in use over rough terrain. I'm just waiting for HL to bring out their metal suspension arms for their King Tiger. That should be a direct swapout with the plastic ones it comes with. With metal tracks, sprockets and idlers, you will want stronger springs and the metal swingarms. Have fun with this, Doc. You might challenge your modeling skills but who says that's a bad thing, eh?

Hi,
finally the KT arrived!!
Now I need to finish first the TIger!!!

First impression of the massive tank: It seams to be a big plastic box!!!
I hope in few months more upgrade parts will be on the mkt!!
Cheers,
Gianfranco.
