This is a scratch built running model Sherman tank I made just for the fun of it. I used balsawood for the main body of the tank and deatailing. It is propelled by the tamiya twin gearbox. It drives nicely indoors with fully functioning suspention. Enjoy ;)

Your creativity is awesome. Thanks for posting the pics. Does the gun recoil when it shoots? Just pulling your chain there...

Considering the materials, that's one heck of a job!

Solid work, time well spent.

Fantastic work! With the right wheels and tracks it would be hard to tell the difference from an expensive plastic/metal model!
What sort of scale is it? If not known perhaps some rough dimensions?

Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave!
hehe Thanx man! Its about 30 cm long, i didn't work on a spesific scale, I just multipleid my blueprints until it looked about right for the tamiya twin gearbox ;) The materials to build this tank cost me about 60 rands (thats 8 dollars roughly) without the gearbox, but as always the time is priceless!!

Fair enough, my Sherman in 1/16 is about 35cms long so that makes yours roughly 1/18.7 scale.
Really impressive, the hatches especially as I had a hard time making them. Nice work! :D

Here is a video of my tank driving around ;) I use an "umbilical cord" to stear it with a simple switch controll. Was not worth making it rc.
