2 speed 'switchable' gears in a 1/16th !!!

Amazing bit of resourceful engineering ....its just a pity that the assembly is SO big
.....The guy has done the same conversion to a Tiger 1 and a jagdPanther...but there is NO ROOM left inside to put the battery so it rides on the rear deck and rather spoils it.....There must be a way to just change gear rather than adding another gearbox WITH motor attached !!
SO does anyone have an idea??
The second speed only uses the plastic gears because the TOTAL reduction must be enormous and so there is no real strain on them they just rotate quickly
No wonder his Tiger can climb out of a 'hole'
