Crippled Sherman!

Good Afternoon Tankers.
After almost a decade, my 1:30 Heng Long Sherman must have hit a mine in the carpet because the track on the Radio Ops side sheared and rolled off, bringing my exciting Library Recon to an end. As I report, a replacement set of tracks is wending their way to me by air from the mysterious East. I hope they get here before we are discovered by a Wehrmacht patrol and wind up in the enemy's sights! Happy Friday everyone!
regards,
Painless
P.S. Here is a pic of the old Girl when she was much newer. She has since received a brass gun tube, antenna mods and a better paint job. New tracks now as well I guess *chuckles* Amazingly enough, that suspension is spring mounted from the factory and does a pretty decent job.

3841 was the HL model number. They have an upgraded version out nowadays, the 3841-1 *grinz*

UPDATE: No tracks as of yet. The Crew was bored and managed to scavenge the area and found some local wine of a good vintage. (like we would know what was a good French wine) I hope they are in shape to replace the track when it arrives *Laughs* Happy Good Friday to you all.
regards!

Update: Hallo! Still no tracks and what's sadder yet, we're out of wine. If the Repair Delivery unit doesn't come through by this weekend, we may have to blow up the Tank and make our way back to friendly lines... Happy Friday all.
regards!

Komundu, Hello,
I just got in from a road trip and saw your question. Nothing in the mailbox today unfortunately. The email from the site said the 18th of April to the 24th. I'll be honest with you. If I had found a pair in the UK, I would have ordered them from there. If you still want to roll the dice (and what self-respecting Tanker doesn't) the site is ibizgift.com and the item number to look for is: IG810033
3841-1TRACK.
Regards,
Painless

Good Morning,
Nothing from the 'Repair Depot' all this week so I'm going to ring the Unit up and see what's what. I think I'll also take my own advice and see if a set is available from ol' Blighty.
*waves a wine bottle* Happy Friday All!

Painless

Update. I've found out that a more accurate set of tracks is or was made for this 1:30 Sherman. I've taken the extra measure of contacting the Shantou Dowellin Toy Factory in China where this tank is manufactured for Heng Long. I created an account as a Buyer and requested pricing for several sets of tracks. The dice are rolling, lets see if they come up sevens.

Good Afternoon,
Well, no love from China. A very stern communique has already been sent. After a month with a disabled Sherman, I did what I should have done in the beginning and looked at the problem as a Modeler not as a guy with a few spare bucks in his pocket. (Because 'A' does not usually lead to 'B' in our case because of the financial rigors of our craft) *hmmmm* Well, the soft almost rubbery plastic material the track is made of is unsuitable for drilling and hinging, not to mention is vanishingly small for such work. I've heard of guys sewing these back together but that didn't strike me as a permanent or long term repair. Ah Ha! After a few minutes with a butane lighter and a metal blade, the track is repaired with a neat heat weld. In fact, it worked so well that I went through both of the tracks and fixed any weak spots I found. Result, Tank tested and running on two tracks again. Happy EARLY Friday every one! Drinks all around!
regards,
Painless
P.S. I know pics are always called for so here are a couple of the repaired AFV.
