Matching motor speed on Heng Long Tanks

Hi! I'm new to the forum and i must say glancing thru this forum made me purchase lots of tanks. Keep it up guy, I'm from Malaysia which sad to say the scene for RC tanks are scarce.

From all the experience tankers out there, i need your input on this. I have recently bought a heng long Panther G tank and found that the tank can't go straight, hence have done all the checkings and found out one drive motor is running faster than the other, so my question is can we advance the timing on the standard stock motor? I've put in 2 first generation Tiger 1 motors in and the tank goes straight but speed wise it's 3 times faster which is unrealistic so was thinking of using back the original stock motor which have higher torque. Any input is appreciated.

Cheers :D

Hi there have you tried to ajust the trim lever on the transmitter! That will ajust the power to the motor! . Plus if you want to make the tank move at a more realistic speed then why not try a 3to1 ratio gearboxes ! They will give you more power and the tank will move at a more realistic speed!! Hope that helps!!

Hi Deathpion,

There was a gearbox calculator available to download (but no appears to have gone) which is an excel file you inputted motor speed and stuff and would work out the scale speed of the tank. Hopefully somebody else knows the link.

To answer your question the stock motor speed I think is just over 10,000rpm. No idea why you've got motors from different tanks which are so different with speed.

Ian.

cos the one which came with the tank one is faulty causing the tank to swerve one side, got 3 tiger 1 generation one silver cap motor hence just to recycle, all's good now i took the motor from my bulldog to install in the panther G and the silver cap to the bulldog so now the dog can run circles around the panther. I don't think heng long provide speed accurate motors to their tank as you can see even the gearbox are the same for all their tanks, the varying speed for the tanks are determined by driving wheel size as well as weight.
