Mato 1/16 HL Tiger Tank Metal Barrel (Recoil Version)

How does this Tiger metal barrel (recoil version) from Mato work ? Do I need to purchase anything else in addition to this barrel to make it work/shoot like a real Tiger tank ? This is for my HL Tiger 1 tank.

Hi Tanklover,

Not certain which Mato barrel your refering to, but this is what I bought.

Threaded metal barrel
Muzzle brake
HL recoil unit

That will get you working recoil. I also bought metal mantlet but you can use plastic one, just need to remove from tank, remove metal pipe from inside, cut plastic barrel off, then file off plastic inside plastic barrel bit so metal one will slide inside.

Then you find the HL recoil works fine apart from it works backwards i.e. spring action fires barrel forward and motor pulls it back. Heres a guide to converting it http://www.rccommand.com/guides/hlrecoilmod.php. I've not done this mod yet but plan to soon.
