I thought I would introduce myself and let everone know what I am upto.
My name is Paul and I am from a small seaside town in the north west of england.

I was given a link to this forum by Steve at Welsh Dragon Models.

I have had rc tanks and other rc models for years (I had them when I was young and I am 45 this yer :D ).
At the moment I have 4 1/24 tanks, 2 Tokyo Marui M1A2 Abrams (one is being converted to a custom m1a1 with custom paint), a early model vspro tiger 1 and a late model tiger 1 vspro tank (all with bb).
I also have just got a big box of heng long tiger bits of a mate.
Its got full metal tracks and other upgrades plus all standard electronics have been ditched.
I have bought a asiatam metal hull with torsion bars and late type metal wheels to rebuild it all into.

I used to have a henglong 1/16 tiger many moons ago but I sold it on.
I also used to have a 1/16 t34 that I did a fair bit of work too but a mate wanted it and we did a deal.
I do plan to try and get hold of another 1/16 t34 at some stage (they seem to have disapearedon ebay at the moment).

I also used to fly helicopters and planes but had to give that up to ill health.
I still do fly paragliders occasionaly but no where near like I used to.

I also used to race 1/10 on road and off road plus 1/12 & 1/18 scale but havent raced for years now.

I still own a 1/5 scale fg monster truck/hummer with a 26cc zenoah engine (2wd) with lots of upgrades.
I also have a couple of associated rc18t/mt's with brushless and lipo. (one is a basher and other is a racer)
My latest rc models are a custom axial ax10 rock crawler and I am waiting delivery of a load of bits from the usa to build a 1/10 scaler based on a tcs custom chassis with lots of home made bits to go on it.

Hi Paul,

Great to have you on board you’ve certainly got plenty of experience to share.

The Asiatam/Taigen hull for the Tiger is a great upgrade plus the metal wheels and tracks add load of weight to make it a true heavy tank.

The T34 I heard a rumor that they stopping production, but noticed on Welsh Dragon Website, Steve has them on homepage saying will soon be available.

Also this Sunday a few of us are getting together at Hyde (nr Manchester) to show off our tanks etc. More the merrier.

Ian.

Thanks for the warm welcome, I plan to be around for a while as I have had lots of rc cars and trucks but the tanks are one of the things that tend to stay for a lot longer than the cars.
I still have my first tank (marui abrams 1/24) & after the amount of time I plan to put into the 1/16 tiger I think that one will be staying too.

I cant make it to the meet this time due to family and other stuff but do plan to make it to one of the meetings at some point.
It helps that the kids are getting into rc now (7 year old and 9 year old girls and they both own rc trucks and love to play with the marui abrams and tigers).

Their grandmother thinks I am strange letting them use rc stuff and see's it as a bit wrong (she has accused me of trying to turn them into boys :haha: ), but I say if they like it and they enjoy it let them.
The youngest can change wheels on my 1:1 car with a little help so is loving being able to work on stuff in the warmth of the house, she has been helping change the torsion bars in the asiatam chassis today  .

Paul
