From what i have read about these units..some people swear by them. Others just swear at them, there has been some failures. Having said all of that... you just don't know if they ran the boxes in or,how they treated their models when testing them. Or or what type of terrain it was going over.
If you want to try them out,and your pocket doesn't mind give them try. The only thing i can say about the tamyia gearbox, is how quiet they are. Mine in my tiger1 i can just about hear them if i go full throttle.
I know the impact are not as quiet,so if you run your tank alot in doors that might be worth thinking about.

Thats just what i was trying to get over to you. Poeple will aways chew up a gearbox then give it a bad report. E.g..the tank was going along a nice cut lawn, then a rockery was tryed to be climb tank got stuck. But the owner thinks what the hell its a tank it should get out of there. Next thing you know stripped gearbox. But when they give that bad report they emit the rock part, if you know what i meen.
So its all down to a few things. If you use it in your own back garden where the lawn is well kept. You shouldn't have any problems with either.
But if you decide to take to your local wood land. Then run heavy handed over the humps and bumps etc, then things are not going to last.
So it real down to how you use it.

If you think before you just blindly drive in to a particular terrain, you can prevent a whole lot of problems.

They are strong, but noisy as hell.
I recomend running them in before installation.
Clean them and grease well before installation.
Only downside is the piniongears (not included in the TU kit) which have 2,5mm bore instead of std 2,3. It's impossible to run with those without plenty wobbling. I tried to wrap a couple round of thin tape on the motorshaft which seemed to work, but over time the piniongears worked loose soo I'm back to stock Tamiya piniongears. Maybe theese is a bit better? Fully equipped with ball bearings, and each gear could be replaced separately.
