guys , need a bit of advice and help with my weld lines. are the deep recessed lines round the front of the top of my hull and the top of the turret where they should be? not too worried about the big keyed plate welds as they will be covered in zim so wouldnt really be seen. also am i right in thinking there shouldnt be any welds on the rear hull top as i'm sure this whole section bolts down. going to attempt them with thin strips of milliput if i can get it to mix. been trying for years to do it without covering my fingers in the stuff and still never manged it.

all good stuff.

ps forgot to add it's a heng long KT.

I used plasticard quarter round strips, cut with a blade after gluing in place. It was on my Jagdpanther and here is a photo.Jeff this may be an option on some of the seams,it is not difficult to apply, then using the saw blade cut the welds, the material cuts easy.

or you can use a sewing needle in a scalpel handle or a pyrogravure (electric hot needle), with the needle and scalpel handle method! just pass the needle over a flame to heat it up then press it into the plastic strip to get the weld effect, thats how i did the welds on the PZ III.
cheers oz.

cheers oz and blake, like the idea of using half round strip, i'll just have to get some now as i only have square and i cant be bothered sanding loads of plastic. lol. i'll have to see if i can mod my soldering iron to put a fine point in.

Keep this in mind,Oz the master, and me his student. He helped me with me first Tank,my Tiger S13,and Steiner as well. If I had his steady patience i would be a better modeller.
But it is his willingness to share skill, and others like him on this forum that is the real difference here. Everyone is a master,if that is what they want, and everyone has value in their experience if shared openly. That is RC Tank Warfare's greatest asset, the members.
Check out that weld line method, perfect. That tank seems like it rolled off the open plains of Kursk in July.Ready to fight, man i can't wait until my skills reach that level. Just perfect......

sax is definitely right when he says everyone is a master in their own right and if people are willing to share it makes for a better place, for instance I'm relatively happy with how and what i paint' but when it comes to the electrics of the tanks I'm about as much use as a pig on roller skates' which is to say..........bloody hopeless!, we had a couple of guys in our club who were great at the electric side of the hobby but no longer attend and I'm going to need lots of help from guys on here if I'm ever going to get my new panther g up and running.
but when i do ask for help (and i will) don't talk to me as if i know what your talking about as i definitely won't!

, this hobby the modelers and forums like this can only advance with the willing help of everyone involved within it, if we help each other we all win' but if we don't we all lose.
cheers oz.
