tiger 1 for xmas

well my mum has bought me a tiger 1 for xmas it isnt the s&s version but the older version i have orderd a rx18 for it can i fit that with the standard reciver and hand set? for now also what hand set options have i got as for upgrading?
also i have seen some tigers with a flat pice of alloy on the bottom what is that about?
also what ir systems are best dont realy wanna spend more than the price of a tank on one but i will if need be?
intend to upgrade every thing on it and realy make it a nice tank an keep the buldog for playing with.
thanks for any help have loads of outher questions but i supose i wont be so lazy and serch the site for the answers

Well done on the Tiger.

As far as I know the non s&s controller wont work with the rx18. If your Bulldog is S&S then can use that.

The alu plate is the Asiatam metal hull upgrade £60. I've one and is good but you'll end up with a LOT of other upgrades but if your planning it then shouldnt be a problem.

IR cheapist is the heng long simply plug into the rx18. But only works with heng long not Tamiya etc.

well i went on a shopping spree last night and orded rx18 with s&S reciver and tx with the infered upgrade kit
metal gear box, metal tracks sprockets and idlers metal suspension arms and bolts
and the Metal suspension upgrade, think that will keep me busy for a little while

its funny realy my step son is pestering me for one after xmas what he dosent relise is he has one and thats what set me off
