I'm more of a builder and effects guy of all types of subjects and my experience with RC has been limited
till lately.

CRYSTALS

* Lets say you have two number 3's....Does it matter which one is a transmitter and receiver?

* Can any similar type Crystals be used or do they have to be HL meant for their Tanks only
and are they the same no mater what model of tank it is?

* Is there anything that is not good for crystals, use, storage? etc etc.

Thanks!

Hi there I can shed a bit of light on this one there are all types of crystals the most used are 27 MHz am then you have the 40 mhz fm then the 35 MHz fm now the heng long tanks use 27 MHz fm and there are about 8 different bands I'm not sure if Useing the transmitter one for the reciver would make any difference as I've never tried it! Now there's a number on the crystals that is the band the same band number is used in am crystals but if you use an fm with the same band number even thought it's a different band it will still cause interference! The best type out today is the 2.4 ghz were you don't need any crystals! As the system hop bands every second top stuff ! But if your runing A Heng long system you will have to stick to the 27 MHz fm ! Storage is easy as with anything electronic just keep in a dry place away from damp and moister that it! Hope that helps a bit for you regards Gary.

Both my Panther and Tiger are the same I use the same Tx for both..

*Side note; this is more an electronics question than a build :/
