Hi Again.
After sorting out the gear reduction i now want to fit replacement metal tracks to my Tamiya Panther. I have emailed Welsh dragon models and asked them if the Asiatam late pattern tracks would fit my Panther and they have replied that they think they would. Welsh dragon models also said that the Tamiya metal replacement tracks are actually Impact ones and do not fit very well.
Just wondering if anyone has changed their tracks and what did they use.

Asiatam metal tracks on my Tamiya tiger. They work very well. Add a lot more weight to the tank when fitted. So fit those bearings and beef the idler up.
Nice to have metal track on a tank.

Panther tracks are a bit harder to get right than Tiger tracks I have bought quite a few metal tracks for both Hl and Tamiya Tigers and had no problems however I bought metal tracks then Asistam metal sprockets and they did not fit the tracks I had so if you can try and buy sprockets and tracks together then if there is a issue you can take it to the vendor hope this helps.

I had to replace the plastic tracks on my Tamiya panther, as they simply would not work

I think the tracks I used were Asiatam ones (only cost about £50 notes) from ebay, but they went straight on to the Tamiya sprockets, and I (and the panther) haven`t had any problems since

Just a quick update.
I have recieved my set of the Asiatam tracks from Welsh Dragon Model, Realy good service as i only ordered them Sunday night. The tracks are not a great fit on the Tamiya sprockets but with a little work they can be made to run realy well, I used my dremmel to remove a small amount of metal from the inside face of each tooth of the sprocket which allowed the track links to sit fully down without binding. The tracks now run realy smoothly without jumping. I know it would be better to have a direct repacement for the Tamiya tracks but for the price of the Asiatam tracks its worth the effort.

why not buy the sprockets as well, my panther have the impact sprockets works very well, same for asiatam buy the sprocket you won't be disappointed

The asiatam sprokets are dire, AVOID AT ALL COSTS
