Hi guys, wondered if anyone can give me some ideas, my HL tiger with the standard tx, when I power up all is fine and does what it's supposed to do, sound etc but after moving the tank any more than say six inches I lose all functions apart from the sound and the tank will then not power down, I have tried new batt's in the tx although they were only cheapos, could this be my problem or does it sound like something else, is there any way of checking the tx batts or is it a case of buying expensive batts, also, should the tx LED always be on red, is there an upgrade for tx power?.......Glyn

Hi
I had a similar problem with my HL Bulldog and Snow leopard, except my tanks were driving about 7 foot before loosing a signal.

The problem I believe is the contacts on the rx-18 board.
The cure I found was to bend the pins(only slightly) on the rx-18 board(the pins that go from the rx-18 board to the the reciever board).

This cured both tanks and they both now go approx 30 foot before loosing a signal.

Hope this helps

Jason

If it was mine..before i jump in at the rx18 board..Look over the arial connections on the hand set if it hads a tight grip in the screw set. After that crystals in both tank and hand set, bend the tabs a little if needed (take them out of the plasic covers for the test though).
Then the other option is to place a new section of wire in the reciver board to under side of arial in the tank. that way you have removed the 2 joiners used at that point. Also make sure there is no paint on pillar where the airal is push on to.
