Hey all, i recently bought a WSN T34 and fixed minor problems with the barrel elevation and other bits and pieces with ease. However whilst using the tank a few days ago, the left track stopped going forwards. It will work in reveerse and the other track works perfectly. I was wondering if there's any quick fix, or if i need a new motor. Ive taken the T34 apart to look if anything was catching on the gear box and found nothing.

Sounds like a loose connection in the TX

Well ive opened it up and disconnected everything and reconnected and still no luck Thanks anyway

Hook your motors direct up to a battery one at a time..which ever way round you have the motor leads, if it all turns then just swop the leads round on the battery, and the motor will go in the other direction.

If both motors turn the tacks like this then your Rx 18 board is not working as it should be.

Good idea, thanks very much, I'll try that tomorrow or something. What voltage battery should i use to connect it up? 7.2?

I ended up swapping out all the WSN electronics after a similar failure. You need to isolate each motor and test with a battery, 7.2v for a short burst will be fine, just make sure that your tracks are not jammed, if possible take them off first. It could be as simple as a dry solder joint on the TX/ESC but might be a good time to upgrade the electronics.

Well ill try that out in the next day or so, out of interest though, how much would it cost to upgrade to tamiya electronics and is there a cheaper option?

I tried that but had problems with cables coming off the battery and other things so to get around it i just connected the plug for the motor to the place on the chipboard for the other motor and tested it. It worked fine. I then plugged the second motor (right track) to the switch for the left track and tried it out of curiosity and found that it wouldnt go forward. So something is obviously wrong with the chipboard. Where do i go about getting a new one?

I never managed to find replacement wsn electronics so switched to a Heng Long RX18 with smoke and sound as well as the transmitter. Depends on how much you want to spend, you could use a tamiya dmd or a clarks if they're still around. I got a complete replacement HL setup from Mato toys from Canada.
