Thanks

Those were some quick pictures taken in my back yard. I has been 30+C and totally dry for a couple weeks, it gives that yellow-brown background ;)

Here is a summary;

Description;

- HL Tiger I
- 3:1 MATO Gearboxes
- Stock plastic tracks, wheels etc.
- SLU
- Tactic TTX404 Radio & Receiver
- On/Off Switch moved to the rear of the hull, under the left exhaust
- Emitter is bored through the mantlet (not strapped to the barrel)
- IR Receiver is mounted in the loader's hatch, can be removed and the hatch closed for display, can be driven w/o the I/R Receiver for display.

Sound is excellent, at least IMHO

3:1's and the SLU appear to be an excellent combination, lots of torque, very controlable, can be made to inch forward and slowley turn in its own length.

Speed, as set up, the maximum speed is a scale 16 mph.

Turret traverse is very controlable, can be rotated very slowly and pointed very precisely.

Have tested it for making and taking hits, seems to work very well.

Likes;

- Control/Driveability
- Sounds
- Lack of external antenna
- IR Function
- Tactic Radio does noty have a long, metal antenna

Dislikes;

- Haven't found any (except that I now want one in everything I have) :D

Field test today;

Got 45+ minutes out of a stock HL battery, 2000mAh

Driveability/control is excelent outdoors.

Will run and steer well in longer grass than I want to operate it in.

The big surprise, I got good radio control from 120 feet away with the Tactic Radio and the receiver's internal antenna; might go further, I didn't bother to try, tank is starting to look like a distant dot at that range. Not sure if this is common, it certainly exceeded my expectations.

I am happy with the results so far.

Very well done,the Tiger is just killer.The last photo if you just step back the tank blends in to the grass and tree line behind the Tiger.The description of the S.L.U. and the point by point cometary was great. And I think this device has received little press but seems from your comments to be a very cool and well working unit,price is reasonable,was set up difficult?

Do they have a support line? How about installation into the hull space could you post a few pictures of the internal layout of your Tiger.

Don't mean to ask so much but this device is a bargain,and the issues of installation and set up would be most interesting.Thanks for sharing, :thumbup: :thumbup:

I get mine from this source; http://soundandlightunit.weebly.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

He is 10 minutes drive from me (oh the hardship of it all ;) )

Tim is 1st class and very helpful, he works at a "regular job" but very accessible by email.

Tim has some pictures of the interior that he took when I was over there, I will see in I can get some.

I cannot say if the SLU will fit into something smaller like a Stug or Panzer III or IV; not saying they will not but it is something to check.

I am already looking at another SLU for either a new Panther or my first Tiger in Abt. 506 markings; I know I can do a better paint the second time around and the SlU would go in at the same time.

Hi Glen B, :)
Please can I ask does the SLU system have a 'Momentum Function' so that the tank Automatically takes time to accelerate and time to slow down or is the control down to the operator and his ability to control the tank ?
