Hi everyone, this is going to be my first "full" rebuild so i may have some question along the way.

This is my Panther sat with my dads, all nice and looking well used. Thing is, everytime we met up he moaned "i want sound, i waNT SOUND" (yes, he would get louder >:< ). As soon as i got my Tamiya KT i thought we'd do a swop with the Panthers so i can start a fresh and do something different from the last one.

4th Battalion of 6th Coldstream Guards Tank Brigade "Cuckoo". This is what i'm have a go at, wish me luck :eh:

But first i had to fix the gun mantlet, the screws were over tightened from the factory and broken. The only thing that was holding the barrel and mantlet in was the L.E.D. The idea for the fix was from this very forum so if it was your idea a big thanks goes to you. Armed with an aerial from an old transmitter i took the little bits from the screws and trimed to fit inside the aerial, cleaned up the mantlet so they was a tight fit. Superglued the taps on the mantlet and pushed the aerial with broken part on, all is good now and i'm going to fit cut down aerial to the rest of the screw locations just to be on the safe side. As you can see too, the chin of the mantlet has gone. Well, while it was off i might as well do it. Just cut straight and filled with plastic card, milliput is there to add strength

I'm having fun with the zimmerit and don't think i've done a bad job, going to do one part at a time and not rush it. I did make up way too much milliput though and for some unknown reason i took a mold of the drivers hatch.................................

.............glad i did. I took the drivers hatch out too :O and i don't know why. Anyway i made a new hatch and i didn't know how i was going to do the hinge. MILLIPUT MOLD!! Where are you, i just warmed up some plastic with a lighter and pushed it into the milliput mold hey presto, one hinge.

Thank you bud, don't know how i did that.

Got to tell you this (Johnf will know where this is going), there i was minding my own business sorting the scratch built hatch out so it can open when the wife came in. "What ya doin'?" she asked to which i quickly replied "i'm doing what you normally do and making something out of nothing"

I'm in the doghouse again.

Just a little update and work, this is what got me into trouble with the wife :haha: . The only info i could find for the inside of the hatch was for a 1/35 scale model that i have, don't think i've made a bad job of it. Now it's done i was looking for something else and found a photo of the Panther's drivers hatch and its so close.
