Sunday.

Bought a faulty HL Tiger 1 Pro off ebay. It was sold as a returned unit with non working smoke unit. Idea been swap smoke unit from my original Tiger (Nylon running gear) or get a super smoker from RCtankwars.

Tuesday

Bought HL flash unit, Asiatam smoker unit, and some more oil all from Welsh Dragon Models. All to go in the Pro Tiger

Wednesday

Bought ex-display HL KV1 Pro off ebay. Also bid on a Bulldog pro and Panther G pro, but lost. Good job really as Mrs would of killed me most likely.

Also received my Tiger. Initially disappointed, as sold as only smoker unit not working, turns out turret doesn’t turn and controller forward/backwards control is a bit off i.e. tank goes backwards with out touching it, adjusting trim helps but doesn’t eliminate it. So will contact seller and see what their can offer.

Hope you're able to get the Tiger sorted and good luck with the flash unit. I'm really tempted by one myself as I prefer the idea of that to the rather feeble airsoft gun. Having said that, though, I do have a bit of an idea of how to re-task components of the latter in to something else for the tank... That would be telling, though

Funny you should mention that. That was my thought, until I got the second tank and what a difference in the guns. The latest tank I would say can easily cause bodily harm plus is miles quieter.

My intention with the flash unit was modify the airsoft gun so could put light up barrel and maintain the microswitch to activate but with the new one so powerful I want to keep it. So the flash might go on original tank or the KV1.

Hi Eastern Front. I agree the HL quality control department are on permanent tea break. But part of reason i'm enjoying these tanks is fixing/upgrading/modding them. I bought the first tank as a trial run to see if I enjoy it (having not played with RC kit since I was a kid 15+ years ago) after a month I still enjoy them and hence the growing collection.

All my other bits came Friday.

Like the KV1, is much slower and seems more realistic even does the super spin really slow and juddery (at first I thought it wasn't working right, but looks intentional).

Transfered bits from plastic Tiger to metal one so that's all functioning now.

Tried the flash unit, and that works (as have microswitch on airsoft gun) so need to figure how to intergrate it into the main gun.

Not tried the asiatam smoker yet. As not certain i've been sent the right one.
