Hi Dietrich.
Thanks for your welcome.
I bought the smoker from a company in America called RC Tank Wars
and is suitable for Heng Long & Tamiya tanks, sorry to be so vague,
not received it yet, give you more info hopefully when I receive it.
There's a picture of the smoker on the web site,I'm certain if you see
it you'll know which one I'm talking about.
Once again thanks for helping a newbie.
jezzer.
ps. Any help or suggestions you or any one else can giv me would
be brilliant.

Hi Jezzer,
That is the best kind of smoker that there is, 'By a country mile'.....I am not sure if it is made by the Original Designer or if it is a copy. I will try to find out, but either way it makes the standard Heng Long smoker look weak, very noisey and unreliable.
I have one by the original designer and so does 'Saxondog' he has photos of his working and the volume of smoke is really fantastic. About as much as you would expect on Start-Up from a Tigers motor on a -30 degree morning in Russia
Scale wise it is probably slightly too much but ,who cares, as at this scale the effect really is outstanding

AND it is silent..no horrible motor churning away. The wiring is simple and will probably involve just a permanent +ve and a -ve with a live feed from one motor so that the smoker does not actually start blowing out smoke until you move the tank slightly. Then the fan kicks in and you are away. I see that it is a proportional unit which is also good....the faster the tank goes the more smoke it produces. I am sure that the kit will come with instructions, but any problems and I am certain that someone will be along who will be able to help. :~
By the way which bit of Cornwall do you live in

I only ask as I lived in Tavistock for 10 years, before I retired to France.
Alb.

Yea That's the same smoker and the same person is making them for RC TANK WARS, My Tiger has one and my Jagdpanther, both work very well.
