i have been through the forum search function but most of the links are dead or devoid of pictures (something to do with the move /set up) can someone please help me out with pictures to either post or mail them through to me of the engine and fan /radiator bays either two or three air filter models on the earlier tiger 1s i understand there are copyright issues with certain pictures all i need is enough authentic detail to do a copy of the top of the engine to fill the bays as i have taken the time to cut out all the grills it would be good to have something under them :S . cheers Rob.

cheers stevie and blake you come to my aid again  that gives me more than enough detail to build an engine top to sit in the rear of my humble first effort , blake in your pictures of the HL230 p30 there seems to be a box like structure around the twin air filters its the first time i have seen this was this removed as a "field mod"to aid in access or was it just on the early tanks ? as an ex mechanic i could see that dissapearing fairly quickly out in the field to speed up access to filters and carbs ,im not sure from these pictures where the spark plugs were on the engine inside the cylinders ie the carb side or outside ie the exhaust manifold side but with the sloping sides on the "box " maybe it was a water shield to direct rain away from plugs and leads and the top of the engine ? as with a lot of tanks i know they had the ability to run through water ie semi submerged with the use of a schnorkle device maybe its part of that device to supply air when running in water .it would be interesting to see how they waterproofed the electrical system ie high voltage "ignition and low voltage general supply on the tank i know diesel engines have no problem running underwater with a clean air feed but petrol ie spark plug motors hate water must have been a real sod of a job to get them waterproof :haha: but they obviously solved it .thanks once again for your help people , all the best Rob
