That is pretty impressive, especially with an open top hatch! the same guys got another video
of a tiger driving around in water up to the top of the hull, god knows how he sealed everything up, crazy germans, still, they do build a nice looking tank!

VERY FUNNY Sparks, is this one of the new ELEFANTS or some other kit? Submarine tank,that must be engineered very well, how are the motors running without flooding out,I would really like to see how he sealed the lower hull,control arms,output shafts.

I wonder if he did fully seal the lower hull as all you need to do is seal the motor and electronics with a perspex tube, or similar. The output shafts can be sealed with rubber belows and grease, or that's what I use for sub propellor shafts anyway. Graupner sell them. Amazing bit of work though.

the first batch of Tigers included a schnorkel to be fitted at the rear of engine deck,you know that cast metal cover in front of the exhausts,other equipment an inflatable ring to seal the turret ring and other plugs not sure what else,there are pictures of very early Tiger with schnorkel that I've seen and may have somewhere,I've got pictures of a Panther being tested in a deep water tank and then being inspected for leaks all German tanks had a fording capability without special preparation, Pz III's of 18 Pz div crossed the river Bug completly underwater on the first day of Barbarossa,and there were plans to invade England with tanks driving on sea bed with a floating raft with breathing tubes above them,the schnorkel on Tigers was discontinued because crews refused to go underwater with the problem of outward opening hatches

He says it would be a great way to invade England, I say don't be daft! the receiver aerial would have to be a stupid length to reach the surface and you would be spotted in your dingy with a transmitter in your hand, following the aerial. The simple answer is to conceal the tanks in your boot and use a ferry. Dear oh dear some people just don't think their invasions through.

That's pretty funny as well. Really would like to see how he did it though, especially the drive shafts? and the control arms. But maybe he did as suggested and just sealed the radio.and other electronics.

Nice find!

My guess is the motors are sealed and all the electronics are in a watertight compartment. That way the hull could be free flooding with a drain hole at the rear to let the water out as it surfaces. If the batteries get wet it wouldn't matter if they were given a good squirt of WD40 before and after use. It looks to have reasonable traction on the bottom whereas if the entire hull was sealed it might be too buoyant to grip reliably.
