You could aqlways try something like Tamiya Field Grey (TS-78) aerosol,it makes quite a good washed out Sov green.

Don't know about water based paint, the aerosol can I,m looking at says 'flammable'.

The 'new' paints are lacqeur based, the difference now is you can paint acrylic over them for detail work,or shading and it doesn't come off like it used to,you can also spray it over acrylic without any problems.

depends how faded you want really,a lot of pics in russian museums show variety some are dark like 70's RAF,or post war Brit tanks dark bronze green,to a medium olive green like USAAF olive drab different to US Army od,olive green dulled with dk brown, maybe mix a little until you like it,some people get very pedantic about colour, but there is great variation in German dark yellow, and has been proven by original paint chips,I cant imagine that the Soviets had an exact shade across the board with tens of thousands of afvs and trucks to keep painted, old stocks etc, maybe try102 army grn,116 us dk grn,117 us lt grn,or 149 dk grn,150 forest grn, maybe mix a bit, tone with 81 pale yellow, darken with any dark brown,155 olive drab is quite close, not 66 olive drab its not green enough, its all good old humbrol

30 maybe not eh ? lol,the 155 olive drab has a good feel of post war soviet kit esp if you darken it with some brown just a little,I looked at a few Warsaw pact bits of kit,and my idea is close IMHO,are you going for a desert job ie Iraq, because on all Iraqi stuff ive seen in person has Russia factory finish showing all over the place the sand colour wears off very very easily even in a couple of weeks,it gets sand blasted off in the desert, the soviet paint is really durable satin finish almost ,matt camo paints fall off in no time

they probably use oxide red,im not sure, but deep chips and scratches that go rusty,so it will look good anyhow, are you for desert finish on top?I wish I could afford hooben T-55 right now, show it off when finished,
