Hi Chaps

After being bitten by the 1/6 scale bug, and investing in the last R/C 222 armoured car to be made by Armortek, I`ve decided to go all old school and "go down a size" to 1/8 scale.

Should in June this year be ordering a late model Tiger I from Mark-1-Tanks, which will be done out as the personal Tiger of "Tiger Ace" Otto Carius, famed of the 502 Heavy Tank Battalion, and still very much alive

Will be the "Super Detail" model, complete with a pyrotechnic effect 88mm gun - or, to put another way, 6ft jet of flame from muzzle, huge cloud of smoke, very loud bang, safety zone of 6-8ft around said muzzle when you touch this puppy off :O :O uber cool or what 8| 8| !!! !!!

Now, only have to build the bench to put all 3.3ft of said Tiger tank on ;) ;)

Sounds like the biz
I'd love something like that, but logistics would be a problem :(

Post lots of photos when you get it. I'm working on an armourtek tiger 1 right now. Interested in your impressions of Mark 1. Sparks you are right about logistics. My biggest booted car is a mini cooper. Still trying to decide where to keep the tiger

Hi Chaps

Logistics are certainly worth bearing in mind, the 222 weighs in at 25kg (50lb), takes two people to lift on my own specially built transport pallet :{

The Tiger will be heaver again at 35kg fully loaded, so as they say, go figure ???

Both models are the limit (size wise) that we can fit into the back of the Mondeo estate

Regards Mark, I`ve sent enough emails to crash the web single handed over the past few months, and Mark has been extremely helpful and quick in his responses, so I have to speak as I find

I/8 sounds like a good idea and weight. I will be very interested in seeing how you get on with it.
Best of luck. Did you post on the 222.

Thanks guys  will keep ya` all posted

Would agree also with the comments on 1/8 size/weight wise, as I reckon its the more sensible option

Yes I did post on the 222, but no photo`s, as there all kept on my own PC, which means I can`t post any pictures onto this sight, I have tried, honest

However, if you go onto the Armortek website, and go into Gallery, "Lee`s Models", pages 11-12, "Leons 222", you will see "Heidi" in all her 1/6 glory

I got my Tiger 1:8 3 months ago, and it is real fun to drive.

The weight is close to 40 kg, as I have put in a large 12v 27 amp battery in it. However, the power that this Tiger have, is no problem against the weight

Attached is a youtube video, starting with pictures from manufactoring til drive ready state, and ends with a video of the maiden run

cheers

Cheers Steen

Really appreciate that video mate  gives me some idea now of the actual size of the Tiger tank o-

Most impressive !!! I really can`t wait for June to come round so that I can place that order with Mark

Reckons he should have her ready for collection at the end of October, just in time for my 37th birthday
