Hi folks
anyone else noticed the new BB units HL are useing ?
The new ones have track recoil built in that when you fire a BB it recoils on the tracks and makes a cannon sound :~
also the new RX18 Bourds with extra small circut bourd in them (not sure what the extra bourd does yet)

Old RX18 Left New RX18 Right
newer receivers whith better range it seems
again old on the left new style on the right
New speakers with Chrome centers (dont ask me if the chrome foil center parts makes a diffrence)
still 8 ohm 0.5watt
sure is odd their releasing these parts bit by bit
some other odd but intresting parts include these Extreamly old Tiger 1 gearbox's which are rather cheerfull

Their most likely gauging market demand. Very interesting that they have integrated the recoil and firing motion. I think that is a great idea.

Ooh I like BB and recoil, seeing as my gun just died. Are these out now and do they need a different barrel?
Cheers, Dave

Now added pics
these use the same barrel but the recoil is on the tracks not the main gun barrel so it uses all of the same parts just the BB unit is diffrent

+ it plugs into the RX18 where the IR lead normal goes on the first 2 pins

It looks to me like they have beefed up the FETs on the new RX18 board & the daughterboard is needed to get the rest of the discrete components on because the FETS are larger. The new receiver looks like a substantially better design with more custom devices and less discrete components as well as being predominantly surface mount - this should make for a better/ more reliable receiver. I wonder if the Tx board has also been updated - perhaps Bigwheels can have a look?
You could say our hard earned pennies are being used to good effect and being invested in a better product rather than pushing out the same old unreliable stuff - the mark of a good company that is going places.

I purchased a JagdPanther from the Xenon Project and the forward channel on one side blew out after only an hour or so. I called them up and told them I wanted to keep the tank I had and if they could just send me out a new RX18 board since my tank was desert tan (I actually ordered the camo green because that's all they had in stock, but lucked out and got dessert tan) and didn't want a puke green replacement.
They went to see if their tech could pull the part for me, but no luck, so they shipped out a puke green JagdPanther at their cost and told me I could pull the unit myself (I told them I knew how).
I got the replacement unit this afternoon and it has the updated boards as pictured above. It's working great, but the airsoft fire and track recoil are not combined, which would have been nice, but I'm not complaining.
There are subtle differences between my existing airsoft gun and the new one. The new one has mounting tabs for a micro-switch (which isn't there) and there is a cutout opening below the main spring. I'm guessing this is could serve one of three purposes: either a debris opening, air hole to supplement the existing air holes for reduced pressure buildup, or a hole to help hold the main spring in place when assembling the unit.
If you order the camo green Jagdpanther, I'm betting you'll get the upgraded electronics as it seems many places are out of stock of all other colors but camo-green. Also props to The Xenon Project for the customer service. They're basically taking a big risk because I could keep both tanks and there's nothing they could do about it. They can't charge my card without authorization (their words). They were supposed to send a return shipping label with the replacement tank (btw they sent the tank only, no radio, battery, accessories, etc), so they may not actually expect it returned, but I'll follow up with them to make sure.
I also got a SquareTrade warranty for like 13 bucks, so I'll let you all know how good it is when I decide to use it.

The VS guns have a micro switch that creeping death used to trigger their recoil servo on their now dead upgraded Tiger Turret, No recoil on the fire option could you describe the firing method your using? What I mean is Joystick or fire button? Seems the fire button was described as doing both? cheers Saxondog

I've tried both the joystick (which fires the airsoft only), and the fire button, which just does the track recoil. Neither does both though.
