Darkith Battle Systems

Just started work on my Darkith Battle systems for my Stug's and with a lot of help from Pete(971wright) I've at least managed to assemble them. I suppose the proof of the pudding will be when I test them electrically, here's hoping.
From a soldering point of view they are not too difficult, if a little fiddly. Good eyesight is always an advantage.
I've posted a couple of pic's. Had to use the flash on my phone, but it should give you the general idea.
Nick.

Hi Pete,
I would love to attend our next battle, work permitting.
I forgot to add the pic's only show the DBU's, I've still got the DBC cards and the sound cards to assemble. So quite a bit of soldering to do tomorrow. I'm beginning to think I shouldn't be having these nice bottles of Kroneberg. I dont want to have the shakes in the morning

!.

Not bad Gidantohawk!
I would suggest you cut the PC boards in a circle first, because it is easy for you dremil to skip and mess up all that nice soldering,,, unless you are going to leave the sensor tower a Square!

Hi Blitz,
A bit late for that Pal. I guess I'm going to have to be extra careful with the Dremel.
Thanks for the tip all the same . I'll do that with my next batch.
All the best mate,
Nick.

Hi Nick I used drain pipe to cover the DBU then added a top and daylight shades made from 1mm plastic sheet cut holes for sensors and coverd them with a bit of (paint DBU before adding the negative then you dont get paint on the fillter) exposed negative film the Dark bit if you measure the dia of the DBU you should be able to find a bit at B&Q .

Pete. Pop up some pics of your DBU on this thread. If I'm using negative film over the sensor windows would I still need to have daylight baffles. Just need a bit of help here mate. Don't forget...Lot's of pic's.
Ta,
Nick.

Thanks Pete that sounds like a plan. I'll send it back when I've checked it over. I must admit I'm probably going to need a "walkthrough" with connecting all this stuff. It's funny I like to regard myself as reasonably Compus Mentus, but for crying out loud, I'm struggling a bit with Darkith's build instructions. Is it something to do with the Kroneberg I had last night hee hee.
Just done some more soldering, I'll post some pic's...Which sound card do you want me to send you mate ?. Take your pick.
Nick

Here are some pictures of how how I make mine! No film needed if you can find an old pill bottle to cut off, or maybe they use a dfferent style in the UK?
Well these units get painted and then I add the shades, the one unit with the squares is for a certain customer who requested it to be done like that!
