As with most introductions you will read that we're new at this and I'm no exception. My user name is Assi Hann which is misspelled. Totally new to RC gear of any kind but that has changed as I bought myself a HL Panther G Late for Christmas.
Not new to 1:48 scale aircraft models mainly luftwaffe WWII Eastern front and the majority being FW 190's. Finishing paint schemes really my preference. Mayby 4 years ago I was given a Dragon 1:35 scale Panther G Late and with detailing?weathering plus building a diorama. The result I haven't been near an aircraft model since.
I have already replaced the gear boxes in the Panther with metal ones also I have the metal drive cogs, metal idler wheels and metal tracks from matotoy.
I have visited numerous links on war time finishes as a result of building the 1:35 scale Panther but I will put questions to you out there. While browsing this site I have read some relevant questions and answers but most of them were of a general nature.
My personal back ground covers a few years I'm 68 years of age and my main career was in the Royal Australia Air Force in which I served 20 years. as an aircraft technician.

Hi Saxondog
I'm and have been interested in the military as long as can remember but my love has been military aircraft, any Air Force. If we had remained in Europe I possible would have joined either the Dutch or German Air Force. However in 1960 at the age of eighteen it was the Royal Australian Air Force.
If you like I'm happy to contact you direct about my 20 years in the RAAF, I have come across a number of USAF A/C including U-2's from their so called weather squadron. Who flew out of Australia under the Crowflight programs.
Cheers
Assi Hann
