Think your best bet would be to talk to fv432, plastic would be too fragile and Rob's the Brass man ;)

Use screen door mesh as a base, then ad strips to make the details like the angles at the rear corners. The bars could be added or cut out of the screen based on the detail your copying?

Hi,

have you thought about getting the bar armour etched in brass? I am not sure of the cost for this, but if you did the artwork, then it might be possible to then send that to a specialist company who could then etch it in brass for you. If you had spares you could then offer them for sale to others and re-coup the original etching cost as bar armour is really useful for modern tank modellers.

How about finding a very fine pastry cooling rack. normally metal it would be similar in style and maybe you could solder in some extra wire. Just an idea. :)

I would use copper, as copper is easy to braise, Start with a small sheet about A4 should do it, Nip of to your local fabricators and ask them nicely to Guilatine it up, about 2 to 3mm wide per stripp, If you made some sort of board cut grooves at 1.5 to 2mm deep at 3to 4mm apart, that would pruduce a matrix so you could slot the stripps in then braise.

Just thinking out loud
