On this date in 1941 TOBRUK falls to the British AND Australians, the Italians are totally routed and many are taken as POWS.This battle was one where the Matilda II Tanks were used to great effect. 25000 Italian POWS in 48hrs. But the battle was just the first as the British and Australians pushed on to defeat all Italians on the continent of Africa
