Hi all, can anyone please tell me where to get liquid embroidery gel from, so i can put some weld lines on my project tanks, thanks, Malc...

Dead easy, roll wee sausages, squish em into the joins and mark them with a small flat tool. Great fun.

That looks brilliant, how long does it take to harden, & then can you just paint straight over it, thanks, Malc..

Speed of hardening is dependant on temperature and at normal temperatures (20-25ºC) Milliput becomes rock hard in three to four hours. By the application of heat the setting time can be reduced to a few minutes.

It can be painted. My first experience of the stuff.

I usually leave it 24 hours to fully harden in open air, it can take a lot longer than it says on the tube depending on thickness. Sure, it can be painted, its very fine so you don't tend to get pin holes in it.

The embroidery gel is something that someone only showed me recently. Is this the stuff that looks like typists liquid paper, but is thicker? If so, it is an excellent way of doing welds, just draw a line, wait till it starts to harden, and then add the ridges with a metal edge. It dries in minutes, and can also be painted.

I just bought some of the liquid embroidery ( Fabric Paint ) from Ebay....
Its called >>Tulip Fabric Paint BLACK Slick 3D Dimensional <<, Item number:- 310289131081, Seller :-econ1956
I asked the seller if they had this exact type of fabric paint and they then actually listed it especially for me. It cost..£2.55 and £1.40 Postage.
Once I get it I will try it out and see how it works......I think that the Original Thread is actually saying that you put the weld marks in as you actually APPLY the gel not afterwards...as he talks about MIG welding and if you can weld then you can use this product. I can MIG weld and I hate rolling thin 'sausages' to then apply them to joins and then to add marks afterwards. so this fabric Paint looks like an ideal shortcut in a tedious process.
