Hello Everyone,
WOW!!! What a weekend…
Well, this past weekend was the NW Model Hobby Expo in Monroe WA, and it was a complete success…
Throughout the whole weekend, we had multitudes of the public stop by to inquire about the hobby, and to find out what we do as a club. I would be a very rich man if I had a dime for every time someone stopped by with their jaw hanging open with that “surprised” look on their face…
Also, we had too many people to count stop by, that would say “Oh Wow!!! I have a tank like that and didn’t know there was anyone else around here with one”… So, if this alone is any indication, we should experience a jump in people joining in for the fun.
Throughout the weekend we had several opportunities to conduct several demonstrations and battle competitions amongst ourselves, which drew in lots of people who were very interested to find out more about the hobby and to inquire more about the club and what all we do. Stu, I’m sorry I killed your tanks so many times…
Among multiple other important developments for the club’s future; As a result of meeting the folks that are in charge of events at the Arlington Fly-In Airshow, we have been invited to participate at this year’s airshow as part of the largest military armored vehicles and weapons display in the Pacific Northwest, at the airshow’s “Camp Adams” from July 6 – 10, 2011.
I will be meeting with them to discuss the details very soon… So don’t wait, put this event on your calendar and start planning for it now… Trust me, I have attended this show for years past as a spectator, and this is an enormous event. I can promise, you don’t want to miss this one… Keep an eye out for further developments to come.
For those that were not able to make it to this year’s NW Hobby Expo, I’m sorry you couldn’t make it… I really wish you could have been there, you really did miss out. So, mark your calendar now… We will be there again for next year’s event. They want us to come back again next year, and I have it on good authority, that they will make sure we have an even bigger booth & demo/battle area for next time… I will post details as they develop on the website as they occur.
Also, if you haven’t already heard, NORDPAC has been invited to exhibit and hold demonstrations at the Military Vehicles Collectors Club of Oregon (MVCCO) living history day at Camp Withycombe in Clackamas, OR... So mark you calendars now. I hope you will be able to make it to yet another great up and coming event that we will be attending this year… So don’t miss out.
Finally, I will be posting photos on the website here very soon… It may take some time for me to down load them all, as there are a lot…
Happy Tanking,
Kelly
