Bulldog Idler removal

I have got hold of a bulldog chassis to start my Cromwell project and want to remove the idlers to put smaller ones on, more in keeping with the Cromwell, they have a centre hub and no allen key fixings like the other wheels with suspension arms.
Anyone know if this is a push on wheel or is the centre hub covering an allen key fixing - before I use brute force and find I could have unscrewed it once its too late

Never worked on one of these but found with the hl tiger 1 it took a bit of force to take the cover "cap" off to get at the a/bolt to take the idler wheel off.

Well I have been reading more of the forum and found a thread from someone who needed to replace a broken wheel on a bulldog, it seems you have to split the two halves to get to the centre cap, but even then the glue used to stick the two halves together has stuck the centre cap in firmly, the large wheels are fixed with the allen key fixing and the smaller idlers are just the push in fixing.
I think I might have to drill the centre or cut the top off (so it can be reused by gluing back on) to get to the allen key head.

Sorry I can't help you any further never had a bulldog so don't know what the idler looks like to take off.

if you drill it out you could always make a cover for it. Good luck Mate

The road wheels and the idler all work the same. You have to separate the two large wheels. They are glued together. You could drill out the center hub (it's molded to the rest of the wheel) or try to cut it off. If you figure out how to cut it off, post it here. It could save a lot of work for a lot of people. The alternative is to separate the wheels and install real bolts and nuts in the space around the hub. That's what I did when I wanted to upgrade the springs in my rear road wheels.
