Do you have to order specific tanks? Or can you change them when you get them?
I need to have about 6-8 tanks at once in a tank pit?
How can this be done

The same crystal by number in the different tanks,so with 10 different crystals you could operate 10 tanks at the same time and location. The Heng Long transmitters and receivers require the same crystal number to operate,so by having 10 pairs of crystals numbered 1-10 yo could operate 10 tanks. Dave I'm sure could sell you a complete set of all 10 crystals.

Saxondog,

I use a specific transmitter for each of my tanks, many guy's paint their transmitter to match their tanks. I number mine the same as each tank, My Tiger is S13, my Jagdpanther is 313 each transmitter is numbered to match.

It seems that some of the tanks don't have a crystal or ? they just have a switch to turn to A B or C channel?
How do I figure out which frequency they are on?
Sorry, I am new to this.

Don't worry about being new, everyone started with their first question at some time. The a/b switch is for the smoker function on most tanks I believe but the crystal numbers must match and all the Heng Long Tanks have this system.

The crystals are mounted in the receiver boards and the hand held TX. Which tank are you referencing? Saxondog

hi the a/b/c indicates that this is a non smoke and sound tank the bases are all the same set up so just because it has ABC ON THE SWICTH IT WILL NOT MEAN THAT THE TANK IS SMOKE AND SOUND the way to tell is on the transmitter you should see 3 buttons at the bottom in the middel non smoke and sound has ok on the first button g on the second and k on the third button bottom right connerhas no crystall just a swicth a/b/c the smoke and sound on has the same buttons but the 3 in the middle go button 1 is a key sign 2 is g 3 is k right conner a black square with a crystal if at any time you are not sure ask is this a smoke and sound tank and has it got metal gears in the crystal numbers are
01 fm 27 .145
02 fm 27 .195
03 fm 27 . 095
04 fm 27 . 550
05 fm 27 . 245
06 fm 27 . 295
07 fm 27 . 345
08 fm 27 . 600
09 fm 27 . 650
10 fm 27 . 680

all in stock as well hope this helps you dave

as a slight digression, am I right in assuming that the the HL Tx/Rx is 27MHz ?

If so so can I use my xtals (full n splits) from my 27MHz futaba kit ?

respects

Andy

Just to confuse things some of the old A/B/C boards were on 40MHZ so you could have 6 tanks on different frequencies by mixing 3 - 27MHZ and 3 - 40MHZ boards.
The newer crystals give you 10 options so have simplified it a bit - but I have no idea if there is a crossover between the old A/B/C frequencies and the newer crystals.
