Dont Panic

Peel off what you can, then soak it to get the rest of it.
Isopropyl alcohol, can take acrylic paint right off. Use paper towel or cotton balls.
Thats my suggestion.

What are the templates used for. Just curious. Great thing is you can always repaint. Even the real tanks were covered in layers of paint. Doubt that it's fully ruined and if you use acrylic it can be removed. Remember it's only plastic. Do not use somthing that will melt it.

Stop, What king of paint? If you use easy off oven cleaner and some hot water all the paint including the Factory paint will come off. Then you can prime the parts and paint whatever color or kind of paint you want.
This method will not hurt the plastic, spray tank disassembled this will damage wiring. I have stripped my Tiger and my Jagdpanther.

Save yourself a lot of bother. Do a late tiger with Zimmerit. Lots of fun and looks better. The first few issues of the build your own Tiger magazine had some of the parts required. Sombody on this site may have some of the parts for sale.

if you have any aftermarket/upgrade metal parts , avoid oven cleaner - it is caustic and will dissolve them ! try car brake fluid , it takes longer but is non agressive to zinc alloy . be sure to rinse it off thoughrly .
