As the title, anyone know a good place to get a compressor for cheap? I have followed a few on ebay but they go quite high, I dont really want to spend much more than about £20 if possible. I have found ones in a local tool shop that were cheap but for pumping car tyres, around 250-300 psi, is there a nozzle or something I could reduce this to the required pressure??
Thanks for any help guys!! (Hope everone had a good Christmas!! :D )
Dave

hi, the trouble with the ones for pumping up tyres is they will pulse unless you use a air tank, then you would need a water trap and a pressure regulator , the time youve bought all this your better off getting a airbrush compressor

I have this compressor also. It is worth getting one with tank fitted. I picked up dome airbrushes from hong kong at just 99p and they work great with this compressor. It is certainly worth investing in this piece of kit.

Airbrush compressor oil-free. You can choose oil-free compressor is normally much more expensive or a normal compressor, which come from oil separator. Air delivered by T of two oil-free yet only that it is necessary to maintain an oil separator for a newer model. Air produced by the compressor is not dry and is trapped in the compressed air tank. Water valve is installed you can manually or automatically release the water for relief. It clear that the car is more expensive than the type of relief.

The only trubble you will get by getting a compressor with no tank is..you run the risk of piston pulses going through the air line to the gun and then the paint. The other part of the compressor is not so much about giving you air ..but can it keep it up. If you, ie spray at 35psi and the compressor has a very low cfm air displacement. Then you may as well just blow down the damn thing as they are just not fun to use. You get what you pay for in a compressor. If you want cheap then go for the (diy type). At least they don't get red hot in less than 10 mins.

Couldn't help but to jump in here...
I use an airbrush without a tank, don't need it and I never suffer pulses from the piston. Here is what I have learned though:
Realy..that one i would like to see if you never get it..even the iwata with out tanks do it at times. and thats on a brush with a 0.2 let alone 0.35 witch most people get.
I use my airbrushes for my hobby and auto restoration..

So you put a 0.5 or bigger brush on a compressor with no tank to do auto restoration..I have been spraying cars for too many years to think about. Also do lots of art work with my brush at home..No way can you do any type of good quatily paint work on a car with that type of compressor. Also i doubt that after a short time there is enough air coming from that said no tank compressor to keep going on a (auto restoration 0.5 needle let along 1.5). But i guess a soon as we buy a airbrush set up we all become experts over night, that took me over 30yrs to get.
