Hi. all help is required, I purchased this tank on e-bay, as something different to by boats, and truck.On close examination every thing worked but in the wrong sequence,after a few hours searching the web of instructions,the basic instruction download and rearranging the controls were soon as the should be and all worked well.
This is where some help is required the tank has 2 lights fitted but not connected to anything, I noticed on one of the units there is 15 pin socket and 2 2pin sockets unused,not sure if these are usable or no and if so what for and how to operate them.
Have tried without any luck to down any instructions for the 2 control units,would appreciate if any member can to locate where the instruction could be obtained from?
Regards George

Hi,
Tamiya Tiger 1 did not come with lights so they must have been added.
I have seen this done before and they were plugged into the aux connector of the RC reciever.
Meant they were on all the time, but a switch could be added.

Hi. each thanks for your reply s. Firstly the lights are Bosch headlights as supplied by Tank Zone part number T10019, not sure what voltage they require to work, but if it is 6volts maybe they operate from that socket C5.Connecting them directly into the receiver ,even through a switch means it requires another channel.

The Tiger 1 came with the MF-01 unit, I have several Tam tanks, each with a different MF unit
and none have used the CN5 socket, even the ones with lights. Have you checked there is voltage at this socket ? Check where you got the lights as to their operational voltage.
You could fit a small switch hidden on the outside of the tank. Or upgrade your transmitter to get extra channels then use a Turnigy RC switch.

You can connect the headlights to C5, via a suitable resistor (10k ohms?). I've done it on my Tiger. You will need to use trial and error to get the LED's connected the right way round (i've forgotten), but it won't damage them if you get it wrong the first time. Just connect the same colour wires on the headlights together, fix the resistor to one end, the other end of the LED's to one pin of C5 and the other end of the resistor to the other pin of C5. Note the 'blank' connector fitted to C5 has no pins fitted. I have a stock of pins so if you are interested I can let you have some for a small charge - PM me if interested.

Thanks for the information,I guessed these spare connection could be used.If connected to c5 can the lights be switched on and of via the transmitter (ie trim tap plus stick). My King Hauler system has a different function on each stick, some of which are multi functions. Do you know what the other 2 sockets can be used for. Will PM you in a few days time.

cn5 is permanently powered & not controllable.
cn3 = Machine Gun LED
cn4 = speaker
cn6 = recoil for main gun
cn7 = high voltage flash for main gun
cn8 = comms cable to DMD unit
