Hi, apologies if this is already in a thread somewhere, searched but no joy.
Can someone please tell me what the speed of the latest Hl stock metal gears and high torque motor tanks is like? Are they still way too fast? How do they compare to a tank with an asiatam or mato reduction GB, for speed?

many thanks

Nick

hi nick still way to fast but they are now proportional so if you push the stick up very slowly it wont run off like a scalded cat, but still way too fast on full throttle. dave

Reduced ratio are definately slower and apparently generate more torque. The speed is more proportional to the size of the model. But it can still spin on a sixpence.
As Forge says with sensitive use of the controls you can get "realistic" speeds with stock gears.
Personally i dont think they're worth the money. Having 1 with and 1 without. The only reason I say that is because of the price. I don't think the difference is that dramatic for £50. My Jagdpanther is definately better but not £50 better.
