RC Tank Warfare community hobby forum

Hi All
After reading allot of posts on the site I think I now have a better understanding of the RC Tank world so thanks to all,

I should receive my first kit (Tamiya Tiger 1 full option) on Wednesday I hope,

Painting and weathering should not be too much of a concern for me but I would appreciate any advice on the build.

All tips and tricks to help would be much appreciated.

hi , the best advice is enjoy the build and dont rush it , take your time and get some tubs/ pots for all the small items, read the instructions several times and plan ahead , are you building from out of the box ? if not plan your upgrades and what you need , and please ask questions if you get stuck , even if they seem daft , we were all beginners once

Thanks for the post , I will be building out of the box on this one but the more I read and look at upgrade parts Mmm metal tracks, suspension upgrade have to stop thair or I will not get to sleep.
I have raided the kitchen for sum small Tupperware tubs ( don't tell the wife )
Think I have everything tools wise.
Am really looking forward to the new project

I love that feeling waiting on then starting a new build!

The small tubs are a great idea which I take a step further, small banking coin bags
the plastic seal type are useful for all the small nuts and bolts and the A/B/C/Detc
lables fit in them as well.

I also photocopy the instructions and as Icemonkey suggested as you go over them a
few times write notes on the instructions as prompts.

Finally don't be scared to ask questions, I have asked and recieved many tips and
great advise from the people on this forum very friendly and helpful. Oh yeah put up
some pics of your build as you go, really like build threads.

I would suggest installed bearings in the orad wheels when you build it. This will prolong the life of the wheels and also put less drag on the battery and running gear. mitosal carries the bearings for the Tiger1.

I will scan and print a copy of the instructions as suggested.
Looking at the mitosal web site they state that sum modification to the road wheels is required. Is this a big job ? . and is it possible to do it after the initial build ?.
