HL Panther conversion to smoke and sound
Posted: Tue Dec 07, 2010 2:11 pm
I just purchased to day from a local guy a old HL Panther non S&S edition plus a ton of spares, including everything needed to convert it. The plastic is in very good shape (except for some thick dust
, which explains the sale).
I just got home, cleaned it a bit and opened it. It turns out that the conversion will require some dremel work, as the mounting holes for the speaker & the smoke units are there, but the supports for the small Rx board and the "window" for the crystal are not. Aditionally, the back plate has no holes for the smoke pipes.
Will get back with photos as I advance with the operation
.
edit: converting the radio seems a funky business too, not only the engine control joystick assembly needs replaced, but also the turett joystick assembly needs some modifications, because of different wiring.
This is going to be interesting
