my first worked on HL Tiger 1
The camo was based on the “ SCHWERE PZ. ABT. 502. September 1942 “
History on the s. PZ. ABT 502,
s.Pz.Abt. 502 (later redesignated s.Pz.Abt. 511) Tiger I & Tiger II Mammoth Formed August 1942. Sent to front near Leningrad in August 1942. First Tiger unit into combat. (2nd Ko. was attached to s.Pz.Abt. 503 and eventually became 3rd Ko. of s.Pz.Abt. 503.) The unit fought on the Eastern Front until the end of the war. Renamed s.Pz.Abt. 511 in January 1945. s.Pz.Abt. 511 picked up several Tiger IIs late in the war.
To keep the cost down
to paint the camo I dug through my numerous collection of Humbrol and Revell paint tins “ in various stages of going off “ and found two I could use and looked near to the colour that the tank was painted in “ I am colour blind though “.
I had a bit of fun with this tank and went a bit
with the mini drill with grinder making shell damage, cut one of the side plates off, to make the rest look damaged I reshaped them by using a candle to warm the plastic then shaped, before I done this I used a junior hacksaw to cut between the plates, I also use a heat gun on the rear of the tank to reshape the exhaust covers, this method was a bit drastic as I nearly melted the rear
, “feel free to give comments good or bad, all feedback is welcomed.
“ Hi xrad
“, please don’t hit me so hard this time stayed in bed for two days last time and I’m under a psychiatrist now, he delved into my brain
and found out the reason for my recurring nightmares of badly pruned trees attacking me, you
, “ I am getting a little bit better
“.
As this Tank now as a metal barrel as a safety precaution I’ve disconnected the firing switch.

PROMISED LAND
Now I have to find that Promised Land that us tankies can go and play, where you have the right terrain that as little dirt tracks with little stones, that twine through grass banking’s, with rolling hills with the right gradients that we can drive over, grass that you can drive through (not lawns), pools of water at the right depth that our electrics don’t get wet.
Mud that you can drive through and not stick only splashes a little making our Tanks look weathered.
Where you can meet other Tankies and have a chat over a cupper from the flask about things like, camo the length of our barrels
(I said barrels
) and if we have upgraded to metal or brass gears, metal wheels, metal tracks and other things only us Tankies understand.
Yes that Promised Land, that Promised Land, our Garden of Eden.
