Hi Johnf
That would be roughly around £52.00 over here without postage, how much would
you say could be saved by buying from them.

I purchased from Steve when these hulls first came out, he had them at the best price then and still does. I'm sure this other site has good deals but Welshdragon has supported the member here with discounts and that should count for something.

I read their description, not sure what has changed? The control arms are mentioned but seem the same?

Can anyone tell me how good these hulls are? Are they as good as the Tamiya hull at representing the real thing, ie with a strong suspension system that moves very fluidly and looks nice over bumpy surfaces?
Cheers, Dave

I have no Tamiya experience. My Tiger weighs in at about 18 lbs and moves really well. Does'nt bottom out and runs smoothly over terrain. Will not buy a tank unless one of these hulls is available.

Mine is very strong, the early hulls had a ride height issue as the torsion springs were to strong. They offered a replacement set but I kept working with Automotive wheel weights to distribute the weight and at 20lb.8oz. my Tiger moves better than my Tamiya King Tigers which I have purchased wheel bearing kits for the KT and shoulder bolts for axles. The Asiatam hull is very strong,at least as strong as the Tamiya hulls as the Asiatam hull has bonded hull sides and many cast pieces already bonded to the hull.

The only weakness to me is the Tamiya type control arms with the single grub screw that locks the axles in place, this just seems weak to me. And both the KT's have wheels that wobble and really should not as the cost of a Tamiya KT should have a stronger design.

I intend to post the modification of the KT's and the parts list of bolts, washers and bearings. All these parts can be purchased on line. But the Asiatam hulls are well worth the money, and make accessing the internal components very simple. One Latch and the hull opens, only issue is if you have a early model Tiger the FEIFEL Air cleaner tubes are a problem and have to be removed to open the hull.

Thanks for replies, I have seen videos of Tamiya Tigers and I really like the way the wheels move over stuff so fluidly as if the suspension is really soft, yet it is strong enough to take the weight well. Like it can drive over something nearly an inch high and it doesnt effect the height of the hull, you get what I mean?
I have tried to replecate by making the Heng Long springs softer to the point where it just about takes the weight on the flat but the wheels move quite fluidly over things. I dont mind about removing the air filter tubes when taking lid off, at present I have to do that, plus take tracks off and another 7 screws, I like the idea of not having to turn the tank over or on its side to get into it so perhaps I may invest as these hulls are cheaper than normal at £53.50
Cheers

The movement you describe is the way my Tiger moves, instead of bouncing over objects the wheels ride over the object maintaining a stable gun platform. I have had my Tank as heavy as 24lbs. but the present weight and the placement of the weights over the tracks seems perfect.20lb8oz.Instead of changing out the the torsion springs when they became available I chose to use the Automotive wheel weights. Either way the Asiatam hull is excellent upgrade.
