The title of this post is a short film on youtube showing various german avf's dug by the bulgarians during the cold war. At 5:05 into the vid is a Stug with what appear's to be a Pz 3/4 commander's cupula in place of the normal hatch. I have never seen this before, so whether this was done by the Bulgarians when emplacing the stug or a german field modification is not known. Just thought it was a point of interest for anyone who fancies something a little different in their own model.

Interesting recovery work. Wonder how many items they will finally end up with and how long it will take for them to hit the collector market?

Probably a lot more of those types of defensive lines still quietly sitting around Europe. Seems a bit odd that in the early stages of WW2 the German Army quickly demonstrated how easily a fixed defensive line could be breached, or side stepped, and yet at the end of the war Bulgaria and Norway build fixed defensive positions with surplus German Panzers and Holland does similar work with surplus Staghounds. Must have been a "Feel Good" issue for the politicians of the day.
