Thats a ver cheap way to make them, good idea. I bought some "Plastruct" 'H' stock which looks really convincing after its painted and assembled.

Hi Wizzard033
Had a few drinks

whatching the rugby before posting pic's took me a while
to down load them

.
To try and get a metal look I used Humbrol paints satin mixed with silver for the final coat
with rust.
Off to see a train Model Show today.

I got some good ones from a new laptop box. See them on my video upload.
I like to see people being creative rather than just buying everything.
I have started making my own metal mgs with white LEDs. Just finished a convoy light for my tiger. Make my own recognition flags. Made tools and fittings for my Panzer 111. Will do some posts. If only we could have sombody tell us how to make an Elmod. I'm getting better at the electronics though. Got bored waiting for some items to finish my Panzer 111 and decided to open up my Jamara radio. (Do'nt ask why, just bored) Put it back together, switched it on and after a couple of minutes could hear hissing then lots of smoke. Ripper all the batteries out but still smoking. Fried all the wiring bare. Sh-t. Have put allnew wiring in and it works. Will not do that again.
Still have not made amo crates but its on my list. I have lots of nice wood from building wooden sailing ships so will try.

Hi Johnf
I like what you been doing.
Not good with electric's my self, only had to take strip the outer cables off two
wires coming off the board to make a conection to fit my new gears and ripped
them off the board

.
Before I buy any thing I'm

what can I use. "

Dead right. I tend to be disappointed with a lot of the items I buy. The toger was my first so now I have learned the lesson. These things can realy get expensive. I got steel cable in various thicknesses to make tow cables. Ditch the plastic cables but keep the plastic end loops. Drill them out and insert the metal cable.
I will do some post on making these items also.
Good Luck
John
