I have put this on the main forum as well to gain more interest.
Matt
a annual club membership should be the way forward and this will give you free entry to club meets etc. Non paid members would have to pay an admission fee to join the battles etc...
Also a club newsletter could be published quarterly filled with latest tank news a members section, events etc etc.....
The money will have to be administered properly with a treasurer and secretary and yourself as president. I have access to printing facilities at work so i am willing to produce a newsletter and either print it or have it sent on a pdf format to paid up members.
let me know the contents you wish included etc.
BTW i think its a good time to sort out the list of members who want to get more involved with the running, for various positions in the club. The club web page could be only visible to paying members as well.

yar thanks andy,
all good bar the club page only being visible by members, as i cant do that
we have been thinking of paid memberships ect. but havent really got anything to charge them for. we cant make people pay to come and visit a campsite, and so we need something or somewhere to charge on
cheers mate,
Matt

Just to add something to this one, I used to belong to a branch of a respectable 'national' motorcycle club. They too had a secretary, treasurer, annual meeting etc. It soon became apparent that votes were being rigged, members cash was being misused etc. A sizeable proportion of us therefore left and out of nothing we set up a 'club' of our own.
This time however, we decided that we would not have any membership fees, or membership lists, no secretary, no treasurer, and no events organiser. It may sound like a recipe for disaster but it works. If anyone wants to turn up they can, we meet in a pub once a week. If someone wants to organise anything they can, and that goes for everything from Christmas Meals, parties, trips all over the UK and Europe and weekends away. I used to do a newsletter, but other commitments meant that I couldn't continue.
No money is charged by the club for anything, ever. No one can complain about anything as there is no one to complain to!

and at the end of the day, if someone wants something organised then there is nothing to stop them simply organising it. If someone organises a weekend in France then the destination is made known, as are the ferry times and the accomodation address. Anyone who wants to go simply says so, and books their own ferry tickets and accomodation. We never fail to be oversubscribed for any of these trips?
This all started over 10 years ago, the original club that we belonged to folded, as did a few other clubs in the area...but ours is still there!
Food for thought?

hi rob,
the big problem is that our meets arnt just talkin in a pub or taking a ride out, or even visiting a showground or custom show, (ive been to many)
this club will need funding once we progress further and build permernant grounds ect.
cheers,
Matt

I agree if your thinking of permernant grounds and displays there will need to be some sort of funding.
However I would just like to say Bike meet's are not just talking in a pub and ride outs
