I was just flicking through the Avatar settings in the administration panel and noticed that the allowed dimensions are quite small and the file size limit is tiny.

I've increased the allowed dimensions to 100x100 which is the size of my current avatar and bumped up the avatar file size to 50kB which should be enough, let me know if it isn't and I'll increase it some more. There is also a default avatar now to make the layout seem consistent.
