Germans postpone operation Sea Lion

Post by Saxondog »

On this date, October 12th 1940 the German OKW COMMAND postponed operation SEA LION until Spring of 1941. But the higher command has set this date, and it will never be achieved as this same commander will make a mistake that will insure no German forces will ever land on English soil. Hitler tells the OKW command to focus on Operation Barbarossa believing he can beat the Russians without invading England and by the successful completion of the Russian operation win the war against England as well.

This is the turning point of the war,I say this because had Germany focused on Britain their entire military forces they might well have accomplished a negotiated peace which was far more desirable to Hitler as that would allow him to maintain control of Europe and turn his full forces and attention on Russia.
