Tamiya super sherman,

Hi All
Just a word about tamiya. They have just said they are going to bring out a 1/16th Super Sherman

, should be with us by November, There"s a pic of it in the tamiya magazine, looks to be good!! No price on it but i should think it will be around £600??

about the norm for a full option kit??. Just have to wait and see....

oh well better late than never!!!!!, looking at the picture in the tam mag it looks like they are useing the the same top hull unit as the 105mm sherman???? with a new turret????, might be wrong!!! bet i am.... still see wot the price will be and get it!!! more money than sence....... Brian

Well Brian if you do buy it you know what it will means .. yep a thread of the build so make sure your camera is charged , o tip of the day( open a photobucket account) its free and the best way to load pics back on the forum or you can link it to the site...........

yep camera all charged new one in fact, just got myself a canon DSLR D7 got for my hoilday, so should get some good shots???. Just hope that tamiya get the hull top right? should be a cast top!!+ all the tool boxes hung on the side.All the pictures i"v got of the M50/51-has the cast hull?? so just have to hope they get it right. Just on the last bits on the tam Pazer iv/j sooo many bits missing from it!!! but getting there slowly. well thats about it for now hope to talk to soon.... Brian

If you research the M50 & 51 you will find that there are photos out there showing both types of hull used. Also at least 3 types of turret, including one with an all welded bustle. You will also find different mantlets were used. Some of the early M50's also originally had the Continental engines, but these were all retro fitted with Cummins diesels.
All had (or were retro fitted with) HVSS suspension and most had Israeli made tracks that were similar to those on the Tam Sherman, but with better grip.

Shame they don't do one with VVSS suspension set up, I would deffo get it for my "Oddballs tank" conversion.
