Hi All
Need help
Fitting metal gears.
Made a mess of stripping the wires for the connectors,
pulled out two wires from the circuit board

.
I did resolder and could get forward L and R but no reverse
It seams I have broken the thin plates that run in the board

.
Its one of those old ones that you cant get any more ,
its a TX13 no smoker on sound, If I cant get this board
can I use the TX14 board, if I can what are the problems.
My soldering skills are poor and my solderer is out of the ark.

Hi If the board you have is an RX13 ,you can use any board Rx14 or Rx18 ,dont understand the bit you have wrote no smoker on sound, dose your transmitter have a crystal and is there a seperate receiver card with a crystal,if so you can use any Rx board 13 ,14 ,or 18,
Contact Dave Forgebear he has boards if you get the rx 18 ask him for all the wires to conect it,once fittedthey are all plugs so if you ever need to change it it is simple to un plug and plug in a replacement, these boards take alot more power and dont normaly give any problems.

Hi Pete
Than you for your help.
I phoned Dave when I had the problem "he's been Great".
He said my board was the old TX13 board,
The reason I said no smoker/sound was that the Tank dose
not have them fitted, I dont think my transmitter as a crystal
its a 27.145 MHz.
I wanted to find out would other boards fit, as you have mentioned
they will, but would I have to upgrade to fit.
I have taken the gears back off and taken out the two screws
holding the board, apart from the two wires I made a mess of
resoldering the other are still connected.
I have to mention when I received the metal gears from Dave
they came with tidy connectors, I had to cut them off as my
wires coming off the board did not have them.
Dave did say that he had them but if I wanted to keep the cost down
put a ad in wanted.
Any futher help would be appreciated this is going to take some
time to sort.

You could always solder in some wires to bridge the broken strip on the board?

Did try your idea as a test, but with what I'm using its out of the ark,
hope to get better tools soon.
