Im looking to buy a tiger 1, i would prefer a tamiya as you can get more accesories etc but its 4 times the price of a Heng Long so my question is can you use Tamiya accasories on/in a Heng Long

I'd doubt if there are more accessories for Tamiya, either way they are usually interchangeable.

depends on the parts. tool racks..yes. suspension arms...no.

basically, anything that goes on the outside of the tank and is 1/16 scale..yes.

personally, I think HL makes a decent tank, and you can upgrade as budget and time allow. just read about the different HL options before going an buying one. ....and expect to repair it as often as the original.

For Heng Long, there are different tracks, gearboxes, receivers, infra-red, and recoil/bb mechanisms. make sure you get what you want.

My opinion (and I have built 8 tanks) is that for the money buy HL and upgrade the poop out of it with asiatam quality parts, gearboxes, tracks, additional little pieces, and even some upgrade electronics like elmod and futaba AND still be less costly than a tamiya tank with additional metal tracks and electronic upgrades. 600$ v. 1000$

BUT, if you have the cash and 1000$ - 1400$ is cool for you, buy tamiya and upgrade it...or leave it alone, but nobody really does that with either model.

Well said XRAD, he has described the first tank I purchased and the cost is spot on minus the paintwork. But the ASIATAM TIGER HULL is as strong if not stronger than the Tamiya hull, I have never has a problem with my Tigers drive train, and it is a strong runner with alot of power and torque. Also it was fun to build and modify over time spreading the cost out. But just yesterday I received a part that has bothered me for not having. The Tamiya air intake hoses are textured and appear very similar to the real ones, the H'/L just has rubber tubing. XRAD posted this link, and these two ladies have most every thing Tamiya produces in individual parts.
