SOS from the US

Guys, I have a little problem and need some feedback concerning an HL Tiger 1. I bought this tank when I first staretd in th ehobby and went mod crazy with it. Asiatam lower hull with late road wheels were the first thing I bought. A year later I am still having the same issue I had at the start. The road wheels were constantly inding on the track, so I took them all off and ground them down until I had the needed clearance. Well, that was ok, but they constsntly seperated while driving and I finally decided to get in touch with the vendor I bought them from to see what could be done. He sent me a brand new set free of charge and I instalkled one side to test fit them. Right off they were again rubbing on the guidehorns. Now, I am running the original HL metal tracks on this tank also. I have no access to another set to test fit. Has anyone else had this experience? These are supposed to be asiatam late model wheels, but they are not marked anywhere so I cannot be sure.

Are these Asiatam wheels? they are probably made to fit asiatam tiger late model tracks....maybe you can oder a set of spare links and test fit them.

Unfortunately, if that is the issue, it will cost another 150$ to fix.....

I was thinking the same thing. I originally figured the metal tracks should all have the same tolerances on the guidehorns, but now I believe that I was incorrect. I have so much invested in this thing that I have to fix it now. I just want to be sure of the problem before ordering any more parts. Once this is settled I am upgrading her to elmod and then it will be finished....

I had a similar issue trying to get Asiatam tracks to fit upgrade drive wheels for my JAgdpanther. Ended up having to file the edges of each tooth to get it to work...

Well, thanks for the replies. I took some measurements of the road wheels and the tracks. Seems it ibecomes very obvious they will not work together. I then sent the measurements to ETO armor. Bob found that the Kenny Kong tracks he has measur eout and will fit with no issue. I ordered them and will let you uys know how it all turns out. This is one very expensive HL tiger...well, at least the upper hull is HL.....

Hello guys, I got the KK tracks today and installed them. They fit the late road wheels perfectly, but they do not fit the drive srockets correctly. Seems I need to buy Tamiya sprockets now....sigh

Indeed...Doh! Well, I messed around with them a bit more last night and made soem adjustments to the tracks tension, but it is still not correct. I guess the HLpitch is different just enough to cause problems. I ordered a set of Tamiya sprockets and will tyr them when they arrive. Of course, this means I also have to modify the gearbox output shafts for the sprockets to fit....sigh
