Just received a new Asiatam hull (thanks to Steve at Welshdragon for next day delivery

) for my Tiger.
Before I start I'd welcome any advice/comments from you guys that have already made the changeover, anything to watch out for, don't do, etc
cheers

As you already know, it is too late to help you. You have opened up the hig priced 'tank upgrade' floodgate all by yourself. It will only be pure challenging fun and enjoyment and a lightened wallet from now on!

http://rctankwarfare.co.uk/forums/viewt ... led#p48592" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I have had this hull for well over a year. The first issue was the control arms which I threaded to 3mm and used shoulder bolts for axles. The hull is designed to use Asiatam wheels and axles. I was able to use the stock wheels at first, but even when I upgraded to the early rubber lined wheels I retained the shoulder bolts for axles and the threaded arms. The main reason being they work very well, never have I THROWN A TRACK,or had any issues with my wheels. Also the component tray will need some modifying. cheers Sax

hi xrad
I'm afraid I drowned a while ago
I've 33 tanks, Tamiya, Torro, Mattorro & HL (is this where I stand up and say "my name is ross and I am a tankaholic) and my wallet is permanently empty
but it's great fun

JRC, which set of wheels do you have for the Asiatam lower Tiger hull? Their are several post on this forum about this hull from back when it first became available, with so many tanks how is it that you have not built on this hull before? Just curious. Sax

hi Blake
I've modified all my tanks in one way or another but never tried an Asiatam hull before. I have an early, 2 mid and a late HL Tiger, plus a Tamiya, I was just curious before starting if there was anything worth watching out for with the Asiatam hull.

I had the tiger asiatam hull a year or so ago. I did not think it was a well made/designed as the P-III hull. But definately better than the HL basic hull. No major issues...
except $$$$$$

There is one other issue, the Torsion springs were very strong causing the tank to ride to high. Asiatam did offer a replacement set and they may be included now. My Tiger is over 20lbs which allows for a real tank motion when driving and seems to over time allowed the hull to sit down several MM, I used automotive wheel weights with adhesive backing to weight my Tiger. It really seems to help as I can roll over obstacles rather than bounce over them. Sax
